Used DJI drones, tested and graded

Used DJI drones from the Neo and Flip through the Mini, Air, Mavic and Avata series, bought in China’s second-hand trade and checked one by one before they are listed. Each aircraft is test-flown, and the motors, gimbal, camera, video link and calibration are checked. Battery cycle count and health are read and recorded, and we make sure the drone is no longer tied to its previous owner’s DJI account. The grade describes cosmetic condition only; every graded unit has passed the same checks. The buyer is responsible for import permits and drone registration in the destination country.

Import permits. Kenya (KCAA) and Nigeria (NCAA) require approval, and Morocco and Egypt hold drones at customs. Check with your aviation authority before you order; we cannot clear customs for you.

What we check on every used drone

More can go wrong on a drone without showing on the outside, so this is the longest list. A unit that fails a check is not graded.

Identity and account

  • DJI accountAircraft and remote controller are not linked to the previous owner’s DJI account, and the drone activates in DJI Fly on a new account.
  • Firmware and serial numbersFirmware version recorded. Serial numbers of aircraft, remote controller and batteries recorded and matched to the unit.

Aircraft and flight

  • Power-on and self-checkAircraft and remote controller power up, link to each other and clear the start-up checks in DJI Fly with no warnings.
  • MotorsEach motor spun up and listened to for bearing noise; checked for heat and vibration after a hover.
  • Test flightTake-off, hover, a short flight in each direction and landing, with the aircraft holding position when the sticks are released.
  • IMU and compass calibrationBoth calibrations completed in DJI Fly without errors.
  • Vision and obstacle sensorsOn models that have them: lenses cleaned and sensing tested.
  • Frame and historyArms, hinges, propeller mounts and shell checked for cracks, repair marks and signs of water entry. Damaged propellers replaced.

Camera, gimbal and link

  • GimbalFull travel on each axis, gimbal auto-calibration run, horizon level, no jitter or drift in recorded footage.
  • CameraPhoto and video recorded to the card at the highest resolution the model supports, then checked for focus, banding and dead pixels.
  • Video transmissionLive view held between aircraft and remote controller through the test flight, with no dropouts.

Batteries and remote

  • BatteriesCycle count and battery health read in DJI Fly and recorded. Checked for swelling and damaged contacts, charged to full, cell voltages balanced.
  • Remote controllerSticks center and travel fully; every button, dial and the charging port tested; screen checked on DJI RC models.
